Big shoes to fill here

The rumours can stop now.

Following the shock departure of Ray D’Arcy from Today FM back to his roots at RTE, speculation has been rife about who would succeed the Kildare man in the 9-12 slot.

The news has just been announced that Anton Savage has become the chosen one. He will commence duties in the coming weeks.

Savage has already presented The Ray D’Arcy Show, The Last Word and The Tubridy Show, as well as hosting The Sunday Business Show and ‘The Apprentice, You’re Fired!’ on TV3.

Since 2011, he’s hosted Savage Sunday from 11-1pm on Sundays, taking that slot to its highest ever ratings.

We wish him well.
