Cadbury’s Creme Egg is back… but not quite as you know it

Deep breaths... don't panic.

That’s right folks, according to The Independent over in the UK, the Creme Egg that we all know and love is going to be a tad different this year.

The Independent reports that many claims were made about the latest batch of Creme Eggs tasting different, so The Sun followed up with Cadbury, who confirmed that it has switched out Dairy Milk for a "standard cocoa mix chocolate" in the shell.

But wait, there's more...

As well as changing the recipe for the chocolate shell, you’ll now find one less Creme Egg in your multi-pack as the company has decided to sell them in five-packs instead of six-packs.

Speaking about the new Creme Egg changes, a Kraft (parent company of Cadbury) spokesperson said:

"It's no longer Dairy Milk. It's similar, but not exactly Dairy Milk.

"We tested the new one with consumers. It was found to be the best one for the Creme Egg, which is why we've used it this year.

"The Creme Egg has never been called the Cadbury's Dairy Milk Creme Egg. We have never played on the fact that Dairy Milk chocolate was used."

So that’s what the outraged public had to say, but what about Cadbury?
