PICS: This Galway man is putting men everywhere to shame with his romantic proposal
God damn it man, you're ruining it for the rest of us!
The big proposal is nerve wracking enough at the best of times. Should I go on one knee? Should I ask her father's permission? What's her ring size? Should I be sweating so much right now? Does my girlfriend of 10 years actually even like me, or have I been imagining it the whole time?
These are all valid, logical questions that should be asked.
But it seems that this Galway man had no such nerves when he proposed to his girlfriend over the weekend.
Shane McInerney hails from Ballinasloe, Galway but he moved over to America five years ago on a soccer scholarship where he met the lovely Julia Gordon in Florida.
Shane met her when he was working as a bartender in an Irish bar and he instantly hit it off with the American yoga and Pilates instructor.
Over the weekend, he said that she should create a video to help advertise her yoga, so they went down to the beach, and he began filming her as she went through her yoga poses.
As she completed one of the moves, he sprung a surprise proposal that caught Julia completely off guard and made for one hell of a romantic moment... we may have gotten caught up in the emotion of all.
He hired a photographer to capture the great moment.
Speaking to JOE, Shane said: "We have both been through so much to be together and make this happen. I finished college in Florida last May and signed a professional soccer contract in Sweden.
"My girlfriend Julia left her job and career and moved to Sweden to be with me. Over Christmas I had options to sign a professional contract with a few clubs but turned them down to return to Florida in order to be with Julia."
The bar has well and truly been raised gentlemen, and we all know who we have to thank for it.
In all seriousness, we wish them the best of luck in the future, but somehow we don't think these two will need it.
