Summer is here and we’ll have the fine weather to show for it this week

Summer

Great news to hear of a Monday morning.

Parts of Ireland are bathed in glorious sunshine on the May Bank Holiday Monday and it looks like there will be plenty more of where that came from for the rest of the week.

There will be scattered showers in parts of the country the longer the day progresses on Monday, but the early forecast for the week is for dry, settled weather, with sunny spells and temperatures reaching as high as 19 degrees.

According to Met Éireann, both Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry and will have plenty of sunny spells, with temperatures set to reach a maximum of 19 degrees tomorrow and 16 degrees on Wednesday.

Temperatures will plunge significantly on both evenings, dropping to as low as 3 degrees in places.

Conditions will remain dry for the most part on Thursday and Friday, although it will be a little windier and there will be isolated showers in the east and the north.

The west of the country will continue to enjoy pleasant conditions, meanwhile, with maximum temperatures continuing to hover around 18 degrees.

There’s even better news as far as next weekend is concerned, with Met Éireann predicting an increase in temperatures and a decrease in winds for Saturday and Sunday.

Whisper it, but it might even be cause to break the barbeque out.
