Video: Auld lads in Galway manually lift a car out of the way so their bus can make it to a GAA do

And wouldn’t you know it, the owner of the car they had to move was at mass. You really couldn’t get more Irish than this.

Every now and again, we’re lucky enough to be sent in a story or a piece of footage that could only have originated in Ireland and something made its way to us this evening that is already up there with our all-time favourites.

JOE reader Jason Huban sent us in a clip that was filmed by his sister on Saturday evening as a group of people from Kinvara in Galway made their way via a specially organised 53-seater bus to the Kinvara GAA Social, which was held in Gort, about 10 miles away.

We’ll let Jason take up the story from here so you can have a bit of context before watching the video below…

“The 53-seater bus decided to take the back road to the social but never factored in the ritual that is Saturday evening mass and cars parked along the small road.

“The bus couldn’t get by when one car was parked too far out on the road, so what do a few of the hardy lads do to solve the problem, only get out and manually pick up the car and move it to one side so the bus could pass.

“Needless to say the bus got to the social on time and everyone had a savage night of banter, dancing and what not!”

As if the solution to the problem wasn’t enough, everything about the clip is quintessentially Irish, from the chatter in the background to the reception given to the lads when they eventually get back on the bus.

Heroes, every single one of them.

Hat-tip to Jason Huban for sending this one our way
