This is too close for comfort.
Road safety officer with Mayo County Council Noel Gibbons has today been highlighting the dangers for cyclist in Ireland.
He’s called for a law to make motorists give cyclists a minimum amount of space (around 1.5m) when passing to be considered.
In his statement, he included this video of a guy cycling from Wexford to Dublin just before Christmas.
The footage is taken on a normal straight road, but check out how dangerously close the car gets to the bike. Scary.
Thanks to Mayo Road Safety who gave us the heads-up on the video.
