GAA stars Bernard Brogan and Lar Corbett have been named as the 2010 Opel GPA Players of the Year for football and hurling respectively following a vote by the Gaelic Players Association membership.

Dublin ace Brogan and Tipperary’s Corbett will receive a new Opel Astra each, worth approximately €25,000, for their outstanding performances this season.

Brogan was the top scorer for Dublin in the football championship this season, while Corbett led the way for the Premier county as they captured the Liam McCarthy Cup.

Commenting on the announcement, Dessie Farrell, Chief Executive of the Gaelic Players' Association said: ‘While Championship success is totally dependent on team effort, there is no doubt that the individual performances of Lar Corbett and Bernard Brogan stood out this year and those displays have been acknowledged by their fellow players who have voted them as the Opel GPA Players of the Year.’
