It’s a horse-racing Daily Double for JOE today, as we find potential winners at both Ballinrobe and Leicester.
By William Lattimore and William Nestor
Michael Grassick’s TRIKIRK should be at the business end of the 4.05 Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe this afternoon.
Conditions look ideal in Mayo for Paul Carberry’s mount with the going on the soft side following overnight heavy rain. The nine-year-old has had a few outings on the flat over the summer but is definitely better suited to jumping.
Trikirk is easy to back at 14/1.
At Leicester this afternoon, LAYLA’S LEXI may have the measure of Peace Corps after she lost her way a little after winning at Chester in June but she appreciated the drop into this grade when third at Lingfield last week.
Eddie Ahern is in the saddle on the 5/2 shot.
JOE’s Daily Double: Trikirk (Ballinrobe, 4.05 @ 14/1) and Layla’s Lexi (Leicester, 3.50 @ 5/2)
