Tonight's Telly
Pick of the night: Mad Men, BBC4, 10.00pm.
Tonight is a can’t-miss installment in the award-winning 60s-set drama, as anticipation for the Cassius Clay (later Muhammad Ali) vs. Sonny Liston bout fills the office of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. Procrastination over a phone call on Don’s behalf and a problematic ad campaign for Peggy turn the episode into one long, but eye-opening night in the lives of two of the most important and intriguing characters in creator Matthew Weiner’s Emmy-scooping show. Already hailed in the US as possibly the best episode in the series thus far, tonight’s The Suitcase episode is proof positive that no show comes close to Mad Men right now.
Sporting pick: UEFA Champions League Live, Setanta Ireland from 7.30pm.
Inter Milan vs. Tottenham Hotspur (Kick-off 7.45pm). Forget about Manchester United’s easy encounter with Bursaspor, tonight’s glamour tie is between Champions League holders Inter Milan and tournament newbies Tottenham Hotspur at the San Siro.
