It’s caught out more than a few…

A huge amount of people are being caught out by a fake Facebook competition run by a bogus Facebook page called Audi – Ireland.

The page is in no way connected to the official, legitimate Audi Ireland Facebook page but has managed to fool over 27,000 people (at the time of writing) into thinking it is running a real competition.

The fake post states: “Win a BRAND NEW 2016 Audi RS7 Worth €161.000!
We want to do something big for one of you, so now you have this unique chance to win the brand new Audi RS7 worth €161.000!
All you have to do to be a part of the competition is:
1) Like this picture
2) Share this picture
3) Write “AUDI” in the comment section or tag two friends who
you think should join as well!
We will find the lucky winner the 10th. of January!
Maybe it’s you? ?
Good luck.
This Giveaway is sponsored by AUDI and various partners around Ireland.”

It is an unofficial page and competition, and is in no way related to Audi Ireland.

The company released a statement on Facebook warning users over the legitimacy of the page’s competition.

“We have been alerted to a Facebook page that is claiming to be an official Audi Ireland page. This page is also running a competition where it is claiming to give away an Audi RS 7. Please note that this page and competition is in no way affiliated with Audi Ireland or our official dealer partners.”
