There was only one place for Irish petrol heads to be over the August Bank Holiday weekend and that was down at Limerick Racecourse where the Irish Festival of Speed took place.

There was everything from vintage supercars to well-kept club cars owned by normal blokes who just love their motors. Thanks to the lads at Mazda Ireland I rolled down to the event in a brand spanking new Mazda MX-5 and I made sure to park beside my fellow MX-5 (and RX-8) enthusiasts.

The weekend also saw quite a lot of track action as vintage motorbikes and cars all took a few laps around the recently built sprint circuit, but there was much more than just cars and bikes on show.

For anyone looking to take a break from all the action on the ground, there were a few air displays going on throughout the two days as well as a live band to sooth your eardrums after listening to all those revving engines.

We’ve got quite a lot to show you, so sit back, strap in and enjoy some of JOE’s best pics from the Irish Festival of Speed. Make sure to check back over the coming week to see more super rare supercars as well as shots from some of the cars out on track.
