Man arrested for stealing €846 worth of fuel in series of filling station drive offs

The man admitted he stole fuel on a number of occasions when arrested by Gardaí.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in relation to a series of “drive offs” from filling stations around Kildare and Dublin.

The man filled his vehicle with fuel before deliberately driving off without paying on a number of dates between February last year and April this year.

The combined value of fuel taken is said to be €846.51.

Gardaí arrested the man at his home and he was taken to Ballymun Garda Station, where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Full admissions were made by the man and he’s expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Thursday morning.
