Did you see the weather outside? Best not risk it, sit in and watch one of these instead.

Yep, we’ve got a bumper edition of Movies On TV today, with practically every genre covered from the afternoon right through to the early hours of Sunday morning!

SATURDAY 1 DECEMBER

Death Becomes Her – SyFy – 5.50pm

Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn are two aging actresses who both take a potion that will make them look young forever… but at a price. Bruce Willis is the plastic surgeon who loves them both, and might be the only one who can keep them together. Literally.

Scrooged – Universal TV – 7.15pm

Bill Murray does an 80’s take on the classic Christmas Carol tale, with more kicking fairies and toasters to the face.

Creed – ITV2 – 7.50pm

The sequel is in cinemas this weekend (our interviews with the stars here), so what better time to catch up on the original?

Superman Returns – Sky One – 8.00pm

Looking back at this after the most recent takes on the character, it doesn’t seem too bad, does it? Brandon Routh was perfect casting, some of the action was pretty decent, but it was all just a bit too… twee? Too bright as opposed to Batman V Superman being too dark.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation – Channel 4 – 9.00pm

The one where Tom hangs on to the outside of a plane while it takes off. And that is how the movie starts! In case you’re interested, we did a deep dive on the stunts of the M:I movies, which you can check out right here.

The General – RTE Two – 9.30pm

The real-life story of Dublin folk hero and criminal Martin Cahill (played by Brendan Gleeson)_, who pulled off two daring robberies in Ireland with his team, but attracted unwanted attention from the police (headed by Jon Voight), the I.R.A., the U.V.F., and members of his own team.

The Witches Of Eastwick – Universal TV – 9.30pm

Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon, and Cher become the objects of desire for the devil himself (played by, who else?, Jack Nicholson) in a small town in the USA. Very sexy, very dark comedy.

Falling Down – ITV4 – 11.20pm

Michael Douglas is having a very bad day, and he is about to take it out on all of Los Angeles. It really does feel like this film is more topical today than it was even back when it was released.

Alien – Film Four – 11.35pm

Classic Sci-Fi Horror: Part One!

Hail, Caesar! – Channel 4 – 11.35pm

The Coen Brothers have a blast making fun of Hollywood, with an all-star cast (George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Channing Tatum, Alden Ehrenreich, Scar-Jo, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Jonah Hill) along for the ride. Not classic Coens, but still very entertaining.

Predator – RTE Two – 12.25am

Classic Sci-Fi Horror: Part Two!

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
