An action-packed crime thriller movie is on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

It has a brilliant cast.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Saturday, 2 November) is 21 Bridges, the 2019 action crime thriller starring the late and great Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther).

In the film, the actor plays Detective Andre Davis – a policeman on the hunt for two young cop killers in New York (Stephan James and Taylor Kitsch).

However, after shutting down the 21 river crossings of Manhattan in an effort to prevent the criminals from escaping, Davis begins to suspect that there is more to the case than meets the eye.

Between Boseman’s commanding lead turn, an excellent supporting cast (including J.K. Simmons, Keith David and Sienna Miller) and Northern Irish director Brian Kirk’s stylishly mounted action set-pieces, 21 Bridges makes for an engaging, pacy 100-minute movie.

Produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame), 21 Bridges is airing on TV tonight on BBC One at 11.45pm.

It is also available to stream on Netflix and Prime Video.
