Tuesday. Here we are again.

What do people even do on a Tuesday evening?

We reckon the best thing to do is watch a movie.

You could head to the cinema to check out one of the new releases, which we’ve reviewed in full here.

Or you could sit in, relax, and enjoy a particularly strong Irish contingent from tonight’s movie highlights:

TUESDAY 5 FEBRUARY

Anthropoid – FilmFour – 9.00pm

Based on the extraordinary true story of Operation Anthropoid, the WWII mission to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich, the main architect behind the Final Solution and the Reich’s third in command after Hitler and Himmler. Stars Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan as the two leaders of the assassination plan.

Sherlock Holmes – TCM – 9.00pm

Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law are the perfect pairing in this very fun take on the mystery, which pumps up the action, as well as the star-power, with Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong on fantastic form in terrific supporting roles.

Black Dog – Syfy – 11.00pm

Patrick Swayze and Meat Loaf (yes) star in this absolutely bonkers action thriller about a truck driver who gets caught up in an FBI case involving supernaturally powered, revenge-seeking killers. The cinematic equivalent of eating cheese right before going to bed.

Safe House – ITV4 – 11.15pm

Ryan Reynolds is the CIA agent in charge of a quiet safe house in South Africa, who suddenly finds himself on the run with a very-wanted man (played by an evilly charismatic Denzel Washington), with both of them unsure of who to trust. Co-stars Brendan Gleeson, Vera Farmiga, Liam Cunningham, Sam Sherpard, Joel Kinnaman, and Robert Patrick.

Kill List – FilmFour – 11.25pm

Two hitmen are hired by a shady group of people to perform a number of paid-for killings, but the further down the list of targets they get, the more they realise there is MUCH more to the jobs than they realised. One of the best, and most effed up horrors of the 21st century.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
