Sitting in tonight? We’ve got options for ya!

Warm Wednesday evening is upon us, and not all of us are blessed with skin that reacts well to UV.

You could head to the cinema and enjoy the cool dark room with a set of strangers (we review all the new releases right here), or you could sit in at home and enjoy one or more of these instead:

WEDNESDAY 26 JUNE

(500) Days Of Summer – E! Entertainment – 8pm

Joseph Gordon-Levitt tells us the story of the make-up and then prolonged break-up with his girlfriend Summer (here played by ultimate manic pixie dream girl Zooey Deschanel). A smart, biting rom-com. In fact, there has since been a huge debate over whether or not JGL’s character was actually a total d-bag in this. It really does come down to perspective, but you read all about that (maybe after you watch the movie?) right here.

Street Kings – Syfy – 9pm

Keanu Reeves and Chris Evans star in this gritty crooked cop thriller from the writer/director of Training Day.

Ransom – ITV4 – 10pm

Someone has kidnapped Mel Gibson’s son, and despite everyone’s advice, he doesn’t put his wealth towards the ransom, but offers it to anyone who can help find the kidnappers. A solid twisty-turner thriller.

Oldboy – FilmFour – 11.10pm

Pre-Thanos Josh Brolin is locked up in a room for 20 years without warning or reason, and released just as warning’less. He is told he only has a few days to figure out why, or he’ll never find out, so he heads off on a solo mission of revenge.

The Fountain – Syfy – 11.10pm

An underappreciated sci-fi gem with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz as a loving couple who find each other in three different times, one today, one in the distant past, and in one in the very distant future, and in each time they are forced to face some major personal problems.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
