Have yourself a movie Monday!

Did you enjoy your weekend? Need some downtime now? Movies are the answer.

You could head to the cinema and check out one of the new releases (which we review here), or you can sit in and enjoy one of the better movies on the small screen:

MONDAY 12 AUGUST

Kingsman: The Secret Service – RTE2 – 9pm

A tough young teen is recruited by England’s OTHER secret service and transformed into a killing machine, in order to stop Sam Jackson’s maniac-creating virus. A very fun, modern twist on the James Bond formula, with Colin Firth in brilliant kick-ass form.

Deja Vu – Sky One – 9pm

After a terrorist attack that kills hundreds of people, special agent Denzel Washington is given the opportunity to go back in time by just a few days to attempt to stop the terrorist.

Patriot’s Day – FilmFour – 9pm

Based on the true story of the Boston Marathon bombing, and the police officers who scrambled around the city to find the culprits. One of Mark Wahlberg’s best performances forms part of an incredibly tense thriller, coupled with a fantastic score by Trent Reznor.

A Dangerous Method – TG4 – 9.30pm

Viggo Mortensen is Sigmund Freud, Michael Fassbender is Carl Yung and Keira Knightley is the woman who comes between them in this well-acted drama based on the lives of two of the most famous psychologists in human history.

Phone Booth – Syfy – 10pm

Colin Farrell is held hostage in a Manhattan phone booth by a sniper who sets him a series of tasks in order to survive the day. A tense but preposterous thriller with Kiefer Sutherland doing a good job as a bad guy using only his voice.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
