A Rey of light appears.
Okay, we’ll admit, just like the rest of the planet, we lost our sh*t when we saw the latest trailer for the new Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.
We caught another glimpse of one of the new lead characters, Rey, played by English actress, Daisy Ridley (pic above).
But, what do we know about this relatively unknown actress? Very little if the truth be known!
1. She was in the second of The Inbetweeners films…
… but her character, Alicia, ended up on the cutting room floor. Pretty tough break for a young actress in her first feature you’d think but the reality is she was cut because of Star Wars. Her one scene needed to be reshot but by that stage she was already knee deep in Ewoks… potentially.
2. She has a younger sister who is a model
Her name is Kika-Rose Ridley and she is with the Models 1 agency. Obviously, the Ridley parents were fond of flowers, but there is no truth to the rumour that she has a brother called Piss-In-The-Bed Ridley.
Kika-Rose is obviously a proud sibling and sure why wouldn’t she be?

3. She was in a music video by Wiley
She had a lead role in this music video by Wiley featuring Angel & Tinchy Stryder and called Lights On. She definitely did not remind us of Jimbo Jones from The Simpsons. Definitely not.

4. Daisy loves jazz
Daisy is a keen jazz singer, jazz dancer (what exactly is a jazz dancer?), tap dancer and is also quite the ballet dancer.
Mystery still surrounds her Star Wars’ character Rey, but if there’s a dance-off against any evil galactic empires, we know who our money is on.
5. She’s about to do another movie with a load of Hollywood A-listers
The unknown actress is about to become very well known thanks to her landing the role in the new Star Wars movie. Strengthening her star quality, she has just signed up to star alongside a few Hollywood heavyweights in a movie called Joy.
It features Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper and is a sprawling family-based drama set across four generations..
Plucked from relative obscurity, we are going to be hearing a lot more from Daisy Ridley in the coming years.
