Here are the 7 best movies on TV this evening

Westerns. Sci-fis. Cop thrillers. And a stone cold Irish classic.

A new day. A new week. And we all know how tough Mondays can be.

This Monday will be slightly easier than usual, as there are some genuinely great movies on your telly tonight, and you might need some new forms of distraction now that Love Island is over.

MONDAY 24 FEBRUARY

Back To The Future Part III - FilmFour - 6.40pm

In which Doc and Marty travel back to the Wild Wild West.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - ITV2 - 7.20pm

Arguably the best of the bunch since the original trilogy (and definitely housing the single best scene of the new movies), we get to see just how the rebel fighters found out about that secret weak spot on the Death Star.

Men In Black - Sky One - 9pm

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in one of the odder blockbusters of all time, with the show completely stolen by Vincent D'Onofrio as a giant alien bug in a human suit.

The Commitments - Virgin Media Three - 9pm

Jimmy Rabbitte, an unemployed Dublin boy, decides to put together a jazz band made up entirely of the working class folk. An Irish classic.

American Gangster - TG4 - 9.30pm

Denzel Washington is drug dealer who quickly becomes more rich and powerful than any other criminal in Harlem, and Russell Crowe is the cop who has dedicated his life to taking down the most dangerous man in New York.

Training Day - ITV4 - 10.30pm

Denzel Washington again, playing a charming villain again, but this time as a cop himself, corrupting newbie Ethan Hawke with a new life of drugs, sex, and ill-gotten money.

Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans - FilmFour - 11.25pm

Nic Cage is also playing a very bad cop tonight, in this bonkers drama thriller set in a post-Katrina New Orleans, and the entire city is on edge after a series of violent murders that Cage's painkiller addicted police officer has been assigned to investigate.
