Four of our picks all start at 9pm. Decision, decisions…
The weekend is almost upon us, but if you’re looking to keep it chill for one more night before it all kicks off, you’ve got some very decent options on the box tonight.
THURSDAY 29 AUGUST
Horrible Bosses – ITV2 – 9pm
Charlie Day, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Jason Sudekis, Jamie Foxx and more star in this dark comedy about a group of employees who decide to get revenge on their nasty employers.
Magic Mike XXL – Comedy Central – 9pm
Channing Tatum is back to take his clothes off again, this time setting off on a stripping tour of America for one last big strip before hanging up his thong for good.
Tomorrow Never Dies – ITV4 – 9pm
Pierce Brosnan’s second outing as Bond has one of the best theme songs, but one of the worst villains. It also has some killer stunts (the motorbike jumping over the helicopter, for one…) and Michelle Yeoh is pretty stellar as the kick-ass Bond Girl.
Ghost In The Shell – Film4 – 9pm
Scar-Jo is the cyber-enhanced super-soldier with no real memory of who she is or where she came from, until she crosses paths with another cyber-soldier, who may be the key to unlocking her memories. Eye-popping sci-fi action.
The Martian – RTE Two – 9.35pm
Matt Damon is the astronaut who is accidentally left behind on the red planet, and must figure out how to survive for hundreds of days while NASA puts together a rescue mission. A very fun, very entertaining action-comedy-drama.
Snake Eyes – Film4 – 11.10pm
Nic Cage is the shady detective who shuts down an entire casino when a politician is assassinated ringside at a boxing match. Thousands of witnesses, but nobody saw a thing. Decent whodunnit.
Eraser – ITV4 – 12.25am
Arnie is the government agent who helps people erase their former lives when they’re taken into witness protection, but when a number of his witnesses begin to get killed off, it is up to him to figure out why. Which will involve blowing up planes and shooting at alligators.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
