Adam Sandler’s emotional tribute to his friend Chris Farley on SNL is beautiful

Paul Moore

Chris Farley

The two comedians started off together and were best friends. A lovely tribute to Farley’s memory and talent.

There’s a line in Adam Sandler’s musical tribute to Chris Farley when he warns his friend that he needs to slow down or else he’ll pass away like his two icons, John Candy and John Belushi.

Sadly, Farley died of a drug overdose at the age of 33 after making memorable appearances in the likes of Wayne’s World 2, Coneheads, Airheads, Black Sheep, Billy Madison and more.

Truth be told, his performance as Milton in Wayne’s World 2 had two of the film’s best quotes with ” I hate my father. I hate my life. But I feel great! You guys are great. I’m gonna go pick a fight” and his desperate plea that he wont leave the roady life “cause I’ve got no place else to go!”

If you love Wayne’s World, you’ll know exactly what we mean.

Anyway, before he was starring in films, Farley established his loud and energetic comedic style with Chicago’s Second City Theatre. He was then cast as a member of Saturday Night Live between 1990 and 1995.

During those five years, Farley and Sandler became incredibly close friends as they shaped each others comedy stylings.

With Adam Sandler coming back to host SNL for the first time since he left/was fired nearly a quarter-century ago, he paid tribute to Farley’s memory and skill as a comedian.

While Sandler’s comedic style might not be to everyone’s taste, there’s no denying that this is him at his most sincere and genuine.

Truth be told, he even manages to make an anecdote about Farley sticking an empty Jack Daniels bottle up his ass sound moving.

Take a look.
