#TRAILERCHEST: Wahlberg stars in the true story of a horrific kidnap case in All The Money In The World

Rory Cashin

“My grandfather wasn’t just the richest man in the world. He was the richest man in the history of the world.”

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for All The Money In The World.

Plot’s it all about? Based on the true story of the kidnapping of Paul Getty (Plummer) by a left-wing paramilitary organization in Italy in 1973. Paul is the grandson of Jean Paul Getty (Spacey), a billionaire oil magnet, referred to regularly as the richest man in the entire world at the time.

Paul’s mother Gail (Williams) is estranged from her father-in-law, and as the kidnappers demand $17 million for her son’s release, she is forced to deal with Jean Paul’s representative, Fletcher Chase (Wahlberg), in the negotiations. Which will prove to be tricky, as the billionaire is also notorious for being outstandingly miserly…

Ridley Scott (Black Hawk Down, Alien, Gladiator) is directing the true life crime drama, and it is looking for a release right in the middle of prime-time Oscar season. That, coupled with some great actors – and Spacey under several pounds of decades-adding prosthetics – should see All The Money In The World definitely looking at getting some kind of awards recognition.

Starring: Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Spacey, Charlie Plummer.

Directed by: Ridley Scott

Irish release date: 5 January 2018

Enjoy!
