All the original cast members of Friends are returning for a two-hour special next month
As Janice might say: “Oh my God.”
All of the six main cast members in Friends are set to appear in a two-hour special honouring one of the show’s directors which will appear on NBC next month.
There had been murmurings surrounding a Friends reunion of sorts in recent days and, according to Buzzfeed, it was confirmed by NBC’s chairman of entertainment, Bob Greenblatt, at a Television Critics Association winter press tour today.
The two-hour special will be a tribute to James Burrows, a legendary comedy director who directed 15 episodes of Friends during the show's ten-year run from 1994 to 2004.
He also worked on the likes of Cheers, Taxi, Frasier and Mike and Molly and recently shot his 1,000th TV episode.
Characters from some of the aforementioned shows are also expected to appear, but it is the involvement of the cast of Friends that is the subject of most excitement, especially as it has been confirmed that all of them will appear on screen.
Whether they all appear on screen together in the special, due to air on NBC on February 21, remains to be seen, but it will still be enough to get fans of probably the biggest sitcom of all time very excited.
“I’m hoping all six of them will be all in the same room at the same time, but I’m not sure if we can logistically pull that off,” Greenblatt said.
Is news like this worth hugging it out? Yeah it is.
