Amazon Prime Video

Some genuinely brilliant additions to choose from here!

If you’ve got Amazon Prime Video, then you’ll be happy to hear the streaming service has just added A LOT of big movies to its library, starting with…

ABOUT TIME

Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy star in this very funny, very emotional, time-travel romantic comedy.

BACK TO THE FUTURE I/II/III

Speaking of time travel, here are maybe the most famous time travel movies of all time.

BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM

Keira Knightley, Parminder Nagra and Jonathan Rhys Meyers star in this fun comedy drama about the culture clash of a young woman attempting to make it as a professional footballer.

BLACK AND BLUE

Naomie Harris, Tyrese Gibson, Frank Grillo and Mike Colter star in this okay-ish thriller about a police officer who is framed for the murder of a drug dealer.

DJANGO UNCHAINED

Quentin Tarantino’s vicious tale of revenge features Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson all delivering some of the best performances of their careers.

THE EXPENDABLES 1/2/3

The ageing action stars in this trilogy of “Stuff blows up because of reasons” try to elevate the quality, but they don’t always succeed. The first one isn’t great, the second one is decent, the third one is the worst.

FIRST LOVE

Infamous director Takashi Miike delivers this bonkers crime thriller about a boxer and a call girl who get caught up in a drug smuggling plot.

GOODNIGHT MOMMY

The original Belgian version of this creepy psychological horror is infinitely better than the recent, English-language remake (which also happened to be made by Amazon Prime Video).

THE GREEN MILE

The director of The Shawshank Redemption takes on another Stephen King prison story, this time bringing on Tom Hanks for good measure. You will cry before its over.

HIDEOUS KINKY

Kate Winslet headlines this drama about a young mother who decides to completely uproot her life, along with her two young kids, from London to Morocco.

HOT FUZZ

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s second big screen pairing, tackling the genre of Michael Bay-esque action movies, but through the lens of a small town conspiracy. Very funny.

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS

Another Tarantino epic, this time set within the confines of WWII. It was also the first time most of the cinema-going public was introduced to the greatness of Christoph Waltz.

MONEYBALL

And from one Brad Pitt movie to another, this brilliant sports drama tells the true story of how a general manager managed to completely turn a team’s luck around by thinking outside of the box when it came to picking the players.

THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES

Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and Eva Mendes star in this drama about a cop and a career criminal and the collision course they find themselves on.

PROSPECT

Pedro Pascal headlines this sci-fi thriller about a father and daughter awarded the contract to mine precious minerals on an alien moon, only to discover some dangerous strangers already there. 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

RUSH HOUR 1/2/3

The action-comedy trilogy in all of its profound averageness.

SCHINDLER’S LIST

Spielberg’s powerful drama set within and around concentration camps in World War II, and the man (Liam Neeson) who tried to save as many people as he could.

SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD

An eye-popping action-comedy, we ride along with Scott (Michael Cera) as he battles the seven deadly exes of the new love of his life, Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).

SHAUN OF THE DEAD

The first of the Pegg & Frost outings is this modern classic zom-rom-com.

THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF LONGING

An Amazon Prime Video exclusive. We called this one of the most under-appreciated movies of the decade.

TRIANGLE OF SADNESS

Another Amazon Prime Video exclusive. One of 2022’s best movies, nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards earlier this year.

THE WORLD’S END

And closing out Pegg & Frost’s Cornetto Trilogy, this time they tackle the sci-fi genre, but while to take on an epic pub crawl in the process.
