Anonymous wants to help out documentary subject from Netflix true crime show

JOE

As we already know, no target is too big for Anonymous.

**There are Making A Murderer spoilers in this article**

Fresh from taking on ISIS, the hacktivist group has a new mission in its sights – attempting to help out the subject of Netflix show ‘Making a Murderer’.

Steven Avery served 18 years in prison for rape, a crime of which he was later exonerated, but was convicted of murder in 2005 along with nephew Brendan Dassey.

And Anonymous have pledged to work on detailing alleged corruption which they believe is relevant to Avery’s convictions and exoneration.

Using the @OPAVERYDASSEY Twitter handle, Anonymous has set out to release documents relating to the conduct of two police officers, Andrew L Colborn and James Lenk, both of whom have been named in a $36m lawsuit brought by Avery against Manitowoc County (where he was originally convicted of rape).

They issued Manitowoc County with a 48-hour ultimatum (which expires on December 30) to release phone records between Colborn and Lenk.
