Starting with…

MORBIUS – 1 April

The latest entry into the extended Spider-Man cinematic universe brings in another famed anti-hero from the comic books, with Jared Leto playing the titular vampire. Will it be as successful as Tom Hardy’s Venom movies? Time will tell…

THE BAD GUYS – 1 April

A new animated feature with a very impressive voice cast – including Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Awkwafina, Richard Ayoade and Zazie Beetz – tells the story of a group of famous villains who try to go good.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 – 1 April

The sequel to the hit 2020 video game adaptation brings back Sonic (Ben Schwartz) and Doctor Robotnik (Jim Carrey), and adds in Knuckles (Idris Elba) and Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) as they all chase down the incredibly powerful Master Emerald.

FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE – 8 April

Four years on since The Crimes Of Grindelwald, the third outing for the Fantastic Beasts series will focus on a young(ish) Dumbledore (Jude Law) as he and his fellow good wizards must decide how long they’ll stay on the sidelines during the lead-up to the World War II.

BENEDETTA – 15 April

The director of Basic Instinct, RoboCop, Total Recall and Showgirls is back. “Based on a true story”, it tells the story of a 17th century Italian nun who experiences erotic dreams of Jesus, while also embarking on a love affair with a fellow nun.

THE LOST CITY – 15 April

Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum headline this action-filled rom-com about an author (Bullock) who is kidnapped by a treasure hunter, who believes her latest book contains hints to the location of a long-lost city. This causes the male model (Tatum) who appears on the covers of her novels to try to save her.

THE NORTHMAN – 15 April

Filmed in Ireland but set in 10th century Iceland, this viking revenge epic comes from the director The Witch and The Lighthouse. The cast includes Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk and Willem Dafoe

THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT – 22 April

Nic Cage plays Nic Cage in the most Nic Cage movie ever made! The actor is asked by the government to befriend a vicious dictator (Pedro Pascal) – who happens to be a huge fan of his movies – in order to help take him down. Unfortunately, the two end up becoming really good pals…

DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA – 29 April

After the 2019 movie proved to be such a massive success, getting a sequel was only a matter of time. The gang head to the south of France in order to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ (Maggie Smith) newly inherited villa.
