Bale, Gosling and Pitt set to team up in new financial drama

Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling are all in talks to star in the drama The Big Short: Inside The Doomsday Machine.

Michael Lewis's best-selling book is being adapted by Pitt's Plan B production company, which looks at the build-up to the worldwide credit crunch in 2007 and 2008.

Adam McKay steps away from the likes of Anchorman and Step Brothers to direct, with the production date yet to be revealed.

Whether the film can reach the heights of the superb Margin Call remains to be seen, though with such a strong cast it's definitely one to keep a close eye on.
