A fantastic movie packed to the brim with incredible Irish talent.
Kenneth Branagh is one of the heavyweights of modern acting and film-making, having previously won Oscars, Emmys, BAFTAs and Golden Globes.
He was also the first person ever to be nominated in seven different Academy Award categories across his career, such is his talent both in front of and behind the camera.
So when he announced that he would be writing and directing a biopic of his own young life, everyone immediately sat up and paid attention.
Upon release, Belfast was an immediate hit with viewers and critics, landing seven Oscar nominations including Best Picture, and winning Best Original Screenplay.

The comedy-drama follows a young boy by the name of Buddy (played brilliantly by newcomer Jude Hill), taking a look at his life with his family and neighbours at the beginning of the Troubles in Belfast in 1969.
The rest of Buddy's family is played by an incredible cast of brilliant actors, including Jamie Dornan (as his Dad), Caitríona Balfe (as his Mum), Ciaran Hands (as his grandad) and Judi Dench (as his granny).
The gorgeous black-and-white cinematography helps to instil a unique sense of memory and nostalgia in the movie's story, while the lush score is provided by none other than Van Morrison, with the Belfast native also providing some original songs for the soundtrack.
Belfast is available to stream with a NOW Cinema Membership.
