Brooklyn, Veronica Guerin, and I Love You, Man are all on TV tonight.
We understand that it has been a long week and that you deserve to kick back and watch a film.
On this note, here’s the best of what’s in store.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 – 18:35 on RTÉ1
Not quite as good as the brilliant original but it’s still better than most animated fare. We love Toothless.
The Incredible Hulk – 18:50 on ITV4
Ed Norton stars in the film that really didn’t drive MCU fans wild.
Jurassic World – 20:00 on ITV1
Dinosaurs on the rampage. Worth watching alone for the rather grisly death of a character named Zara. Pterodactyls, eh?
Now You See Me 2 – 21:00 on RTÉ2
The second one.
Die Hard with a Vengeance – 21:00 on Sky 1
Simon says that this is the second best Die Hard film. Discuss?
The Shallows – 21:00 on Film 4
Blake Lively gets trapped by a shark in this better-than-it-should-be thriller.
The Chronicles of Riddick – 21:00 on ITV4
The Judi Dench and Vin Diesel team up that you never knew you needed.
Bridget Jones Diary – 21:25 on TG4
Big knickers, Hugh Grant is a great bastard, Colin Firth is extremely charing. A fine rom-com.
Veronica Guerin – 21:25 on RTÉ1
A tour de force from the brilliant Cate Blanchett.
She met a few interesting characters while filming in Ireland too.
Brooklyn – 22:20 on BBC1
Saoirse Ronan is great in it. Domhnall Gleeson is great in it. It’s great.
The Shawshank Redemption – 22:30 Virgin Media Three at 22:30
‘Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.’
Berlin Syndrome – 22:45 on Film 4
A bit of a hidden gem. A one-night stand goes terribly wrong in this tense and tight thriller.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – 23:05 Channel 4
The humans are horrible, the apes are noble. Caesar rules all.
The Jackal – 23:10 at SyFy
Richard Gere plays an IRA sniper. Yep.
Starsky and Hutch – 23:15 on ITV4
“Do it, do it!”
I Love You, Man – 00:00 on Comedy Central
“Slappa da bass!”
