It's been a good few years for the Irish film industry with a number of big hitters earning filmmakers the international acclaim they deserve.
Young Offenders took Ireland by storm and proved a massive hit overseas meanwhile Sing Street received the prestigious honour of being nominated for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.
Both of these are available to watch on Netflix.
But, now we've some more good news. Handsome Devil, the critically acclaimed Irish comedy-drama, produced by Treasure Entertainment and directed by John Butler is available to watch on Netflix from today (Thursday, July 20).
The movie received rave reviews when it was released earlier this year and with an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, you can be sure it's worth checking out.
The movie stars Andrew Scott (Sherlock & The Stag), Fionn O’Shea (The Siege of Jadotville), Nicholas Galitzine (High Strung), Moe Dunford (Vikings, Game of Thrones), Amy Huberman (Striking Out, The Stag), Michael McElhatton (The Siege of Jadotville, Game of Thrones), Ardal O’Hanlon (Father Ted) and Hugh O’Connor (The Stag, Chocolat).
Ned, the bullied outsider, and Conor (Nicholas Galitzine), a new boy and star athlete, are forced to room together at their cloistered boarding school.
Conor is drafted into the senior rugby team, whose actions dominate school life and whose privilege and entitlement have made Ned’s s life to date at the school a misery.
The boys take an instant and visceral dislike to each other, and Ned and Conor seem destined to remain enemies until an English teacher Mr. Sherry (Andrew Scott) begins to drill into them the value of finding one’s own voice.
The movie described as "Pretty darn impossible to resist" by the Hollywood Reporter will definitely pass an evening for you nicely this month.
