Options include an action-comedy, a western and one of the best superhero movies ever.

Finally, the weekend is here!

As such, why not let the stresses of the week melt away by chilling on the sofa with one of these fine motion pictures.

Logan – Film Four – 9pm

In Logan, Hugh Jackman hangs up his claws as Wolverine with the film giving him a perfect send-off. Emotional, mature and violent, it’s one of the best superhero movies ever.

Ride Along 2 – Virgin Media One – 9pm

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube return as a bickering odd couple in this sequel to buddy-cop action-comedy Ride Along.

The Matrix Reloaded – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

A slightly underrated sequel that suffered coming after one of the greatest sci-fi flicks of all time. Check it out before the fourth in the franchise is (hopefully) released later in the year.

3:10 to Yuma – TG4 – 9.05pm

A small-time rancher agrees to hold a captured outlaw who’s awaiting a train to go to court in Yuma. A battle of wills ensues as the outlaw tries to psych out the rancher. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe star in this remake of the classic western of the same name.

In the Line of Fire – RTE 2 – 10pm

This acclaimed 90’s action thriller follows a Secret Service agent (Clint Eastwood) tracking a disillusioned and obsessed former CIA agent (John Malkovich) who wants to assassinate the US President.

Shot Caller – Film Four – 11.45pm

A well-to-do family man (Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) transforms into a hardened prison gangster after being incarcerated for his role in a deadly drink driving accident.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
