Some good choices for you.

It’s Saturday. We’ve a long weekend ahead of us and some of you might just want to kick it in front of the TV and check out some movies.

You are spoiled for choice with tonight’s offerings.

Jaws 3 – ITV4 – 9pm

Not only is it a different film, it’s also a different shark.

The Boy Next Door – Virgin Media One – 9pm

This got slated by critics.

“Director Rob Cohen has made some terrible films, and this one is no exception. Not one thing about “The Boy Next Door” is even remotely credible, much less suspenseful.” – Jeffrey M. Anderson, Common Sense Media.

Gone Girl – Channel 4 – 9pm

Director David Fincher slickly converts Gillian Flynn’s novel to the big screen.

Fast & Furious 7 – ITV2 – 9pm

The movie was finished in Paul Walker’s honour and the performances reflect that.

Happy Death Day – Film4 – 9pm

Think Groundhog Day, except the main character is brutally murdered to start the cycle again.

Skyfall – RTÉ One – 9.15pm

It’s a toss up between this and Casino Royale for the best Daniel Craig Bond movie. I’d probably lean towards this one.

Due Date – RTÉ2 – 9.45pm

Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis star in this comedy from the director of The Hangover. While it was too much to expect to recreate the magic of The Hangover, it is very funny at times.

Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut – BBC One – 10pm

The only movie you should be watching tonight.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
