Movies on TV

It’s Monday again.

As the first phase of Ireland’s Covid-19 recovery strategy kicks off today, there are long lines outside hardware shops and garden centres, smatterings of socially distanced friends hanging out, and a small sense of optimism.

There are also movies on TV this evening, and we’ve picked out a few of the best for your perusal.

The Inbetweeners Movie – E4 – 9pm

We’re still a long way off going on any holidays ourselves so let’s enjoy one of funniest holiday movies that’s ever been made.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall – Sky One – 9pm

A bedroom farce-style comedy starring Jason Segel, Kristen Bell and Russell Brand — all of whom can do better.

Five Headed Shark Attack – SyFy – 9pm

Look, we see a title like Five Headed Shark Attack, we put it on the list. It’s pretty simple, really.

There’s Something About Mary – TG4 – 9.30pm

A simple nostalgic romantic comedy starring Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz.

The Big Lebowski – Sky Comedy – 10.40pm

Jeff Bridges stars in one of the most iconic comedies of all time. The Coen Brothers at their finest, with great supporting performances by Steve Buscemi, John Goodman, Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Turturro.

Charlie Wilson’s War – Sky Atlantic – 11.20pm

A US congressman gets embroiled in a secret mission to provide covert military support to rebels in Soviet-occupied Afghanistan. Before long, he finds unlikely allies in the shape of a womanising CIA agent, a Texan socialite and the president of Pakistan. Fact-based political drama set during the 1980s, starring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
