The people who brought you the excellent OJ Simpson series will look next at the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky saga.
The sex scandal involving former US President Bill Clinton and White House intern Monica Lewinsky will be the subject of the new season of the FX series American Crime Story, the TV network announced on Tuesday.
Impeachment: American Crime Story will star The People v. O.J. Simpson star Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, along with Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones.
Monica Lewinsky herself will help produce the series, which will hold added weight given the constant discussion around a potential impeachment of current US President Donald Trump.
As it stands, nobody has been cast to play Bill Clinton himself.
Both of the previous installments of American Crime Story won the Emmy for Outstanding Limited Series.
Season 1 earned 22 nominations and nine wins, while Season 2 took home 19 nods and seven wins.
So the bar is pretty damn high for Season 3.
The first season of the series looked at the trial of OJ Simpson, while Season 2 dealt with the assassination of Gianni Versace.
FX has already set a Sunday, September 27, 2020 release date for the new season to American audiences so we shouldn't have to wait much longer after that before seeing it in this part of the world.
