At long last, the weekend is among us and with that, you may be looking for movies to watch.
Our pick for tonight is Black '47.
This western follows Irish soldier Feeney (James Frecheville) who in 1847 returns home from fighting for the British Army in Afghanistan to find his country ravaged by the Famine with many of his own family among the dead.
Outraged by the injustices he sees perpetrated by rent collectors, law enforcement and English landowners, Feeney seeks vengeance.
Boasting hard-hitting action, while not shying away from the horrors of the Famine, Black '47 manages to be both a long-overdue and worthy cinematic telling of an awful part of Irish history and also a gripping western.
The ensemble cast is incredible too - featuring Barry Keoghan, Freddie Fox, Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent, Moe Dunford, Sarah Greene and Stephen Rea.
Black '47 is on RTÉ One at 11.20pm.
