Black Mirror creator says the world currently doesn’t have the stomach for new episodes

Black Mirror

We’re not going to be seeing new episodes of Black Mirror anytime soon.

And to be honest, maybe that’s for the best…

After all, we are literally in the midst of a global pandemic that is affecting the world in ways we have never seen before.

Some of the changes that have been made to society wouldn’t look out of place in an episode of Black Mirror, and that’s partially why Season 6 won’t be coming any time soon.

In an interview with Radio Times, show creator Charlie Brooker said that the world is not in the right place for a new season of what is normally such a morbid show.

He said: “I’ve been busy doing things. I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing.

“At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on any on of those.

“I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”

Luckily, we do already have hours upon hours of the series to indulge in, if you’re feeling in that type of mood.

Plus, some of them have happy endings…

Not a lot, but some.
