Six years since the show ended, and we pick up right where we left off…
It was barely a few hours ago that Netflix dropped the latest teaser for the feature-length return of Jesse Pinkman, but today they have given us our first official trailer for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and it is tough to think of how a trailer could get any better than this.
While it does seem like there isn’t going to be any easy “in” for non-fans of the show, it does give us a fantastic feel for the vibe of the movie, which is essentially “Jesse isn’t out of the woods yet”.
Not a huge amount of plot, which writer and director Vince Gilligan is still keeping pretty close to his chest, but it will be interesting to see how he, a master of the incredibly tense slow-burn (both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul didn’t get spine-snappingly tense until a few seasons in), will convey that same sense of nails-in-the-sofa anxiety in two hours.
Not that it hugely matters, because we’re obviously going to be watching it the second it drops, regardless.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will be released on Netflix on Friday 11 October.
