You can’t beat a bit of Bully.

Watching re-runs of Bullseye on Challenge TV is wonderful.

It’s a glimpse into a long-gone world, where beefy blokes from Leeds could bag themselves a speedboat with just a decent aim and a bit of pub quiz-level knowledge.

The show ran from 1981 to 1995, hosted by the ever-capable Jim Bowen and aided by an animated bovine named Bully.

A short-lived relaunch in 2006 didn’t stick, but it’s remained in the popular consciousness as something we all loved – Peter Kay ever built his career around it.

But now, it is rumoured that the show could be making a comeback on Channel 5.

The channel’s relaunch of Blind Date has gone down fantastically, and now they are looking for other classic gameshows to bring back from the dead.

As reported in The Mirror, a source said:

Channel 5 are over the moon with how Blind Date has gone. Despite having a new host the old format has still done well with viewers. They are now knocking around a few old classics such as Bullseye with the idea of bringing them back.

As for the producers’ ideal choice for a host? Bradley Walsh is believed to be the frontrunner.
