Camp Rock 3: Demi Lovato reprises Mitchie as sequel hits Disney+ in Ireland

The sequel debuts on Disney Channel this Thursday (13 August) before streaming on Disney+ in Ireland from Friday (14 August).

The cameo marks a turnaround for Lovato, who had previously been announced only as an executive producer without an on-screen role.

Her return comes 18 years after the original Camp Rock launched her career in 2008, the latest heavyweight to join Disney's run of nostalgia projects, from remakes to this Disney remake.

The Jonas Brothers also executive produce and reprise their roles as Connect 3 bandmates Shane (Joe), Nate (Nick) and Jason (Kevin), while Maria Canals-Barrera returns as Mitchie's mother, Connie.

When Camp Rock 3 streams in Ireland

The news, first reported by Variety, arrived just ahead of the film's Los Angeles premiere on Monday. Irish viewers can catch it on Disney Channel this Thursday, with the film added to Disney+ in Ireland from Friday.

With the original cast reuniting, Camp Rock 3 arrives 18 years after Mitchie and Shane first met at camp — a reunion pitched squarely at the millennials who grew up with the franchise.
