The new MCU sequel will see the return of a villain we haven’t seen on screen since 2008.
Captain America gave us The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier and Civil War, and until today, we were due to be getting New World Order.
However, via a social media posting of the first behind-the-scenes image of the upcoming MCU sequel, in which we see Harrison Ford and Anthony Mackie enjoying each other’s company in between takes, we discover that the fourth movie now has an official new title – Captain America: Brave New World.

Directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox), who is also co-writing the script with Malcolm Spellman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), the cast is headed by Anthony Mackie, as Sam Wilson/Captain America, and Harrison Ford, who is replacing the late William Hurt as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who is now the President of the United States.
Returning MCU cast members including Tim Blake Nelson (as Samuel Sterns, last seen in The Incredible Hulk), Carl Lumbly (as Isaiah Bradley, last in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Danny Ramirez (returning as Joaquin Torres, aka the new Falcon) and Liv Tyler (back as Betty Ross, also not seen since The Incredible Hulk).
The plot of the movie is still being kept pretty top secret, but considering the movie title – both the previous one and the new one – we should expect to see how the new Captain America is being accepted by the world, especially considering the world is now also having to deal with the multiverse… and a huge rock alien thing is still sticking out of the ocean. Y’know, MCU stuff!
Captain America: Brave New World is set to arrive in cinemas on 3 May 2024.
