Check out this brilliant 80s-style intro for the Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul

Yeah bitch! We're really going to need a new catchphrase...

Eoghan Doherty

Yeah Mr Goodman! Yeah spin-off shows!

Whatever people may think about obsessive Breaking Bad fans (of which JOE is certainly one), you definitely can’t accuse them of having a lack of creative endeavour.

Within 24 hours of the eagerly-anticipated Breaking Bad spin-off show being announced, one very enthusiastic and talented YouTuber – dondrapersayswhat – has created a brilliant, 80s-style, mock intro for Better Call Saul.

What a work ethic – Mr White would be so proud.

The entirely authentic-looking intro is perfect in every detail, from harnessing the Miami Vice power of an 80s synth soundtrack by Jan Hammer, to somehow successfully making us pine for a show that never even existed. Ah, better (fake) times…

JOE caught up with the genius creator of Breaking Bad Vince Gilligan recently and you can read our full interview with the living legend here, where he discusses how progress is actually going with the Bob Odenkirk spin-off show and how much of “a pleasure it is to put words in Saul Goodman’s mouth.”

In the meantime though, enjoy Better Call Saul in all its fake-80s glory:
