#TRAILERCHEST: The remake of Child’s Play wants to be your friend till the end

He’s more than a toy. He’s your best friend.

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Child’s Play.

Plot’s it all about: The original version told the story of a young single mother who buys her son a top-of-the-range doll for his birthday, unaware that the doll may be possessed by the soul of a prolific serial killer.

This time it looks like they’ve updated the technology behind the doll itself, and whatever is going on in that shopping centre seems to indicate that maybe there is more to the problems with the dolls than just one errant serial killer’s soul.

The first Child’s Play came out in 1988, resulting in no less than SIX sequels, the most recent of which was 2017’s Cult Of Chucky.

Updating the franchise entirely is a smart move, as is getting in the acting talent of Plaza (Parks & Rec), Henry (Atlanta), and Bateman (Lights Out).

Starring: Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, Gabriel Bateman

Directed by: Lars Klevberg

Irish release date: TBC, but the US release date is 21 June

Enjoy!
