We’re ready to party with Marty.

If you’d told us last year that we’d spend the start of summer 2020 looking forward to a show filmed via Zoom in Marty Morrissey’s shed, we’d have said: yeah, that actually does sound unreal.

Debuting this coming Sunday evening (10 May) on the RTÉ Player, the beloved Clare man will be digitally joined in his shed by Chris O’Dowd, who’s currently quarantining with his two young sons over in LA.

Each week will feature an assortment of other guests, all many miles away from Marty and his shed. The first week will see comedy provided by Oliver Callan and music provided by the Kilfenora Céilí Band.

The show will run for four episodes, featuring plenty of celebrity, comedy and musical guests including: Al Foran, Conor Moore, Nicky Byrne, Davy Fitzgerald, Alisson Spittle, Aidan O’Shea The Galway Tenors and The Gloaming.

Speaking about the new project, Marty said: ““It’s certainly a bit different to be presenting a show from my Shed in my backyard in West Clare on the Wild Atlantic Way but here goes!

“I’m deeply honoured to be given this opportunity on the RTÉ Player as I meet new and old friends who will be joining me from all over Ireland, USA, UK & Spain as we all try to cope with this world pandemic. We all need to stay safe right now and stay at home and hopefully we can bring a smile to your face for just a half an hour on RTÉ Player.”
