The wrestler-turned-actor says he has 'high hopes' to be a 'rom-com lead' someday.
With his scene-stealing turn as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as his roles in blockbusters like Dune and Spectre, Dave Bautista is one of the most famous actors alive.
And it's clear from his recent work in movies like Army of the Dead, Blade Runner 2049, Glass Onion and the now-in-cinemas Knock at the Cabin that he wants to showcase his range as an actor and take on more dramatic and different roles.
In keeping with this, while speaking to Page Six at the premiere of Knock at the Cabin, Bautista revealed that he has "high hopes" to one day star in a romantic comedy.
However, the wrestler-turned-actor also said that he has never had an offer to do so and that he wonders if he is too "unattractive" to be a rom-com leading man.
“I know I’m not your typical rom-com lead. I’m a little rough around the edges," he told the outlet.

"But I always, you know, I look in the mirror and I say, I ask myself, ‘Am I that unattractive? Is there something that unappealing about me that excludes me from these parts?'
“I don’t know. It’s just never come my way. I’ve never had an offer to do a rom-com.
"I still have high hopes. I’ll just keep searching.”
JOE also spoke to Bautista about his new movie Knock at the Cabin, a psychological thriller directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Split).
The film revolves around a girl and her parents who are taken hostage while vacationing by armed strangers (led by Bautista) who demand that the family make a choice to avert the apocalypse.
Meanwhile, Bautista will also appear in Dune: Part Two and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which are set for release later in the year.
