Deadpool was one of the biggest movies of 2016. Superhero movies are all the rage at the minute, but Deadpool puts his own little spin on the current trend. He has no problem breaking the fourth wall and addressing the fact that he is in a movie throughout the entirety of the film.
It might be what sets Deadpool above the rest, the not giving a f**k attitude that he embodies. This makes for brilliant comedy, but it also lends itself to an endless world of promotion and marketing.
We have been gifted with a perfect example of this with a new video that features David Beckham watching the original Deadpool and hearing the anti-villain make a hurtful comment about the former Manchester United winger’s voice.
Deadpool aptly describes Beckham’s voice, saying: “Have you heard him speak? It’s like he mouth-sexed a can of helium.”
The video features the Marvel character doing anything he can so that Beckham will forgive him. See it for yourself here:

Perhaps the best zinger of the video, though, comes from the ex-footballer, where he asks what it is exactly Reynolds is apologising for. He proceeds to list off a series of Reynolds’ lesser-respected movies. Ouch.
Deadpool 2 is out in Irish cinemas on 15 May, so if that video got you in the mood, you only have a few more days to wait.
