Only Fools and Horses is returning for Christmas!

A perennial favourite among TV viewers in Ireland and across the UK, Only Fools and Horses will forever have a place in the heart of the nation. David Jason last played ‘Del Boy’ 20 years ago but is going to crack out the old gear, and catchphrases this Christmas.

And thankfully, we’ll be getting a fresh taste of the Trotters this Christmas thanks to a new documentary coming to Channel 5 over the festive period.

The documentary will feature David Jason himself, alongside a bunch of other cast members and guest contributors.

The 83-year-old will take the opportunity to go down memory lane and reminisce about all of the iconic moments we’ve come to know and love from Del Boy and Co.

The documentary will also reveal some secrets from the legendary Christmas special episodes, reports The Mirror. The episode will mark Sir David’s first appearance on TV since he underwent a hip replacement last year.

“It wouldn’t be Christmas without the Trotters, so this is a great way for viewers to get their Only Fools fix,” an insider told the Sun.

“Producers were delighted when David was passed fit to appear following his surgery, so the special will be cushty for fans.”

In his 2022 book, The 12 Dels of Christmas, David Jason revealed that his favourite Only Fools and Horses Christmas episode was 1989’s special, The Jolly Boys’ Outing.

“It’s the sequence where Harry Nilsson’s Everybody’s Talkin’ plays as we see the cast on board the coach to Margate, and the day’s high jinks starting to unfold,” he wrote.

“The magic of Only Fools is compressed into this single sequence – the gang of friends that the cast had become, and the sheer fun of it all. And so many of those faces no longer with us, of course.”

In that hilarious episode, Rodney Trotter was arrested and the tour bus, supplied with a knock-off radio from Del Boy catches fire and is engulfed in flames.
