Thursday viewing sorted…

Economist David McWilliams has a new documentary airing on Virgin Media One (that’s TV3 to anyone who resists change) on Thursday night this week.

David McWilliams: Back to the Future will air at 10pm and will take a look at what exactly is happening with Ireland’s economy.

The documentary will feature interviews with economists, business owners, zero hours contract workers, renters, adults moving back in with their parents along with Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy and Web Summit Founder, Paddy Cosgrave.

Speaking about the show, McWilliams said: “What have we learnt from the crash? We’ve probably learnt a lot more than you think but also a lot less than we should because human nature is a strange thing – we tend to make the same mistakes over and over again and now we know for example the housing market is inflating again.

“To allow a housing market to crash twice in a generation would be unforgivable.”

“But as a nation we adapt really well to challenges thrown up by the modern economy. This brave new world is going to be different and the main difference is nobody is going to look out for you other than yourself.”
