New Irish horror thrillerDouble Blind lands in Irish cinemas next month and, based on its trailer, it looks very scary.
Shot in Dublin and Limerick, the movie stars Millie Brady (The Queen's Gambit) alongside horror icon Pollyanna McIntosh (Let Us Prey, The Walking Dead) and follows seven young test subjects taking part in an experimental drug trial.
The trial goes awry, however, when a terrifying side effect from the drug is revealed - if you fall asleep, you die.
"Trapped in an isolated medical facility, they must find a way to escape, and somehow manage to stay awake," the plot synopsis reads.
Millie Brady in Double Blind, the new Irish horror that looks terrifying
The debut feature from Irish director Ian Hunt-Duffy and writer Darach McGarrigle, who previously made some great short films together, Double Blind has already screened at several festivals - including the Galway Film Fleadh and the IFI Horrorthon - to positive reception.
In a glowing review, Screen Daily called it: "A savvy fusion of Agatha Christie suspense and David Cronenberg body horror," and added that it could even launch a franchise.
More viewers will have a chance to see the movie when it lands in Irish cinemas on 9 February. Check out its trailer right here:
