Here are our ten most anticipated movies from the 2019 Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival

The Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival is running from February 20 to March 3, preceded by the Fantastic Flix festival, and combined they'll be bringing some of the world's most anticipated movies to the capital. We've scoured the festival's recently announced line-up, and have come up with the ten picks we're most excited about checking out during the fest. THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING When & Where: 11.30am, Wed 13 Feb, Cineworld Why: Director Joe Cornish has finally made a follow up to the fantastic Attack The Block, this time telling the story of a group of modern-day kids who are forced to band together in order to stop a medieval menace. Cornish will be in Dublin for the screening of the movie. Clip via Fox Family Entertainment PAPI CHULO When & Where: 6.30pm, Wed 20 Feb, Cineworld Why: John Butler, the director of hit Irish comedy Handsome Devil, is back with his latest effort, starring Hollywood hunk Matt Bomer as a TV weatherman who strikes up a unique friendship with a Latino migrant worker. Clip via Serguei Boutakov MID90S When & Where: 8.40pm, Thurs 21 Feb, Lighthouse Cinema Why: The directorial debut of Jonah Hill, and we're sure it is somewhat autobiographical, as it focuses on a young boy in 1990s-era Los Angeles as he attempts to navigate to tricky home-life and a group of new friends at a local skate park. Clip via Zero Media SURPRISE FILM When & Where: 6.00pm, Sun 24 Feb, Odeon Point Why: Nobody knows what this is, which is the whole reason people go in the first place! THE SISTERS BROTHERS When & Where: 8.30pm, Tues 26 Feb, Cineworld Why: John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix play a pair of 1850s assassin's who find themselves hunting down Jake Gyllenhaal and Riz Ahmed in search of a new surefire way to source gold in the Wild West. A dark comedy drama from the director of the much-loved A Prophet. Clip via ONE Media EIGHTH GRADE When & Where: 6.15pm, Wed 27 Feb, Cineworld Why: Comedian Bo Burnham makes his directorial debut with this one, another coming of age tale, but this time telling the story of a young girl simply trying to survive the last week of classes before moving on to the high school. Burnham will be in Dublin for the screening. Clip via A24 FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY When & Where: 6.15pm, Wed 27 Feb, Lighthouse Cinema Why: Based on the true story of a young British woman who goes on the make a huge splash in the world of wrestling (you might know here as Paige!). Dwayne Johnson, Vince Vaughn, and Lena Headey star, with Stephen Merchant (The Office, Extras) behind the camera, and also heading to Dublin for the screening. Clip via MGM VOX LUX When & Where: 8.45pm, Thurs 28 Feb, Cineworld Why: Natalie Portman plays a high-school shooting survivor who somehow manages to become a Lady Gaga-esque super pop star. Co-stars Willem Dafoe and Jude Law. Clip via NEON THE SHINING When & Where: 2.00pm, Sat 2 Mar, Lighthouse Why: Eh... because it is one of the greatest horror movies ever made, and we should never pass up the opportunity to catch it on the big screen! GRETA When & Where: 8.10pm, Sat 2 Mar, Lighthouse Why: Irish director Neil Jordan brings us a brand new psychological thriller, with the legendary Isabelle Hupert as an older woman who befriends and begins to obsess over Chloe Grace Moretz's kind stranger.
