Dune is now available to watch for free in Ireland

While a third film is likely a fair few years away at this point, the good news is that Dune: Part One is now available to watch for free in Ireland.

That's right, if you haven't yet caught up with the franchise and don't own a Netflix account, then fear not, the 2021 epic is now available to watch on the RTÉ Player.

Denis Villeneuve's first foray into the world of Arrakis paved the way for the incredible sequel and is basically a big ramp up for the events of this year's blockbuster.

However, looking back on it with fresh eyes shows that its much more than a set up and contains some incredible set-pieces, beautiful landscapes and fantastic acting.

Dune is now available to watch for free in Ireland

While its been available to watch in Ireland on Netflix for a while now, not all of us own an account with the streamer and the RTÉ Player is available to all, so there's literally no excuse left not to watch it.

Focusing on the first half of Frank Herbert's epic novel, Dune stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul and follows his family, the House Atreides, as it is thrust into a war for the deadly and inhospitable desert planet Arrakis.

Alongside Chalamet is an insanely good ensemble cast including, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.

While not ALL of them make it to Part Two, we can promise that every single performance in Dune is as good as it gets. However some characters only get their chance to shine in the sequel.

Along with Dune, RTÉ Player has also added one of the best Western flicks of all time, Unforgiven, to its streaming service.

If you take some time to dig around, you'll find all sorts of great movies and TV shows on the streamer that you might not find elsewhere, including the likes of Kin, Colin Farrell's under the radar series The North Water and very popular US drama Yellowstone.
